Very Boring

Its all been very quiet here the last few days.  The weather has been atrocious the last few days so we’ve been very quiet really.  Pen Pen was very good tonight though apart from I’m still sweating loads more than here every session.  In fact, she gets warm but not really sweaty yet, which is very frustrating.  She’s really starting to come off the leg nicely though and steering is getting much better now that my legs are more effective.  Canter is still our weakest gait as she really seems to come right onto her forehand and speed along at 90 miles an hour.  Its the only time that she is very dead off the leg when I’m going up into canter.  I wanted to do a few more canter-trot, trot-canter transitions tonight but we ran out of light.  But I can’t complain, I can feel improvements every time I sit on here and there is no way you can expect any more than that.  We haven’t done jumps again since Friday but I’m hoping to do that this weekend again and see how we go.

Only two more days at work this week as Friday is Good Friday, and then I have the whole of next week off as Lorna, my youngest sister, is here.  I think she’s very brave taking the ferry across and driving over here.  I’ll just have finger, toes and everything else crossed until she’s safely here.  Unfortunately the weather is due to get even worse this weekend with snow due on Saturday.  I’m hoping this weather will blow itself out over the weekend and we’ll have lovely weather for when Lorna gets here on Monday.  It would be really nice to go to the Keukenhof but not really worth it if its pouring down.

Also, the kittens are starting to really move about now.  The little boy (the black one) is looking to be the most adventerous so far and really has the most beautiful face.  The girl is a bit of a pansy and is the noisiest thing in the world if you pick her up away from her mum.  The have now been moved under the couch due to the fact that we had to de-flea them at the weekend (I have no idea how they got fleas as they are all house cats.  the only thing I can think of is that Claudius brought them back from the vets).  I really should have thought it through more as we took them out of the ‘den’ and then did the spray (after checking it was suitable for the babies of course) and put them back.  Ophelia (Mum) then smelt them and they obviously smelt like they’d been attacked and therefore the ‘den’ was no longer safe.  So she keeps moving them under the couch which is really annoying!  I’ll have to get some better pictures to show how cute they are though.

  1. The kittens are so cute! Thanks for putting up pictures.

As brave as your sister is for coming along, I really admire your striking out in another country and creating such a fascinating life full of satisfying things. Hope y’all have great fun. Wish I could send you some of our 70-80* weather to warm things up.

  2. Kate, tell me those aren’t your legs in that picture of the ‘whole family’?! If they are I’ll be bring a nice new pink bic razor next time I visit ;)

  3. LOL… yeah should have probably put a disclaimer in that pic. Although come on, if my legs were that hairy the hair would at least be blonde :) They are of course Bas’. I didn’t notice them till I posted the picture, don’t think I’ll tell him, he may kill me :D

And Shu, some nice weather blown over our way would be lovely :D I’ve just got soaked hacking out on Pen. She was so good though, will post about it in a minute. We had many many monsters.
